Rainbow Six Siege gathers accessibility settings and expands control remapping

In short

Rainbow Six Siege now has a dedicated accessibility section in its settings and a new control-remapping system. The game also includes options that can make text and important visual information easier to perceive.

The third season of the year brings accessibility settings together in the rebuilt options menu. The new remapping system supports multiple key bindings and lets players choose press, hold, or toggle interactions. Deployable devices also have dedicated hold and toggle settings.

Low-vision players can adjust text and chat size as well as chat background opacity. Players can choose colors for teams, objective markers, location pings, and the aiming reticle, and control how much information appears in the interface. Camera shake and motion blur can be removed, while a dark mode reduces the intensity of bright flashes.

Ubisoft’s feature list specifies text-to-speech for text chat, rather than narration for menus or the rest of the interface. It also does not describe audio assistance for navigation or combat without sight. The update therefore offers several specific settings for low-vision players and players with motor disabilities, but does not establish no-sight playability.
