RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (OpenRCT2 Access)
OpenRCT2 Access makes RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 practically playable with a screen reader, keyboard control, map reading, and spoken building and park-management feedback.
Short verdict
Blind and low-vision Windows players who want to build and manage a theme park without a mouse or sight, and who are willing to learn many keyboard commands.

Accessibility
- The mod sends speech and braille through the screen reader you already use; the documentation mentions NVDA, JAWS, Narrator, System Access, ZDSR, and others through Prism.
- The full experience is keyboard-driven: menus, windows, map cursor, park stats, guest lists, staff, research, building, and deletion.
- F1 reads the available commands for your current context.
- The map can be read tile by tile with coordinates, direction, elevation, zones, objects, and elevation audio cues.
- Building gives spoken feedback for placement, obstructions, path/queue connections, entrances, exits, stalls, and coaster pieces.
- Version 1.1.3 improves camera-relative directions, path checks for entrances/exits/stalls, obstruction explanations before construction, and less repetitive tile speech.
Known limitations
- This is not the regular Steam version by itself. You must own RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, launch it once, download OpenRCT2 Access, unzip it, and run openrct2.exe with your screen reader active.
- The OpenRCT2 Access documentation lists Windows as a requirement; macOS compatibility is listed as not accessible or not fully tested.
- This is a deep simulation with many commands and systems. Expect a learning curve, especially for custom rides, finances, and large parks.
- Importing extensions is listed as not accessible or not fully tested in the mod documentation.
- The strongest source is the mod’s own documentation and release notes. I did not find a separate long-form review from an independent blind player during this check.
