OpenRCT2 Access 1.1.3 makes building and wayfinding clearer without sight

In short

OpenRCT2 Access 1.1.3 improves spoken directions and provides more information about paths and obstructions as blind players build amusement parks.

The update now uses the camera orientation when it announces which way a ride entrance, exit, stall, or scenery item faces. “Up,” “right,” “down,” and “left” therefore match the arrow key that moves in that direction. Coordinates and directions of travel continue to use fixed compass directions.

Entrances, exits, and stalls now say whether they connect to a path. Control+P can check the connection from those objects, while building mode explains what must move when something blocks construction before the player confirms placement. Speech while moving across the map also repeats less information about the path or ride the player is already on.

OpenRCT2 Access is a Windows build of OpenRCT2 with screen-reader output and keyboard controls. It requires the Steam version of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 and a running screen reader; the developer recommends NVDA. Version 1.1.3 comes as a complete package for 64-bit Windows, so the standard OpenRCT2 build does not need to be installed first.
