EA Sports FC 27 adds an accessibility filter and high-contrast menus
Published:
In short
EA Sports FC 27 gathers relevant settings under a new filter and can make some menus and players easier to see. Menu narration is limited to North American English and parts of the interface.
Players can now filter the settings menu to show accessibility options. Icons identify whether a setting relates to vision, hearing, cognition, or mobility. A new high-contrast setting replaces translucent menu tiles with opaque backgrounds on certain screens, while the main-menu background video can be replaced by static images.
On the pitch, each player indicator can have its own color. The returning high-contrast mode lets users choose colors for players, goalkeepers, the referee, and the ball, turn the pitch gray, and remove player and stadium shadows. The new Grounds mode also allows several aiming and ball indicators to be resized and recolored.
EA documents menu narration, but only for North American English. It reads certain parts of the interface, including highlighted tiles and menu items, and EA does not describe audio assistance for following a match or navigating The Grounds without sight. The feature list is therefore most specific for low-vision players; it does not confirm full no-sight playability.
