In short
Games for Blind Gamers is nominated for the Get Together prize at the Gaming ohne Grenzen Award 2026. Blind accessibility consultant and content creator SightlessKombat is also among the nominees.
The German awards are being held for the fourth time and have expanded from six categories to nine. The new Get Together category covers games, communities, and projects that bring people together and challenge exclusion. Games for Blind Gamers, which runs annual game jams focused on blind accessibility, is nominated alongside Sona VR and Stop Killing Games.
SightlessKombat is one of three candidates for the Personality award. Two other new categories recognize individual features that remove barriers and accessibility in mobile games. The winners are chosen by a twelve-member jury drawn from gaming, inclusion, education, research, and accessibility.
The ceremony starts at 3 pm local time on Wednesday, 26 August at Jugendforum NRW during gamescom in Cologne. It will stream on Jugendforum NRW’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The organizer lists German Sign Language interpretation on YouTube, but does not mention audio description or an English translation.
