Minecraft Bedrock adds closed captions for in-game sounds

Mojang has added closed captions to Minecraft Bedrock Edition. The official Minecraft post says the feature shows short descriptions of nearby sounds, such as footsteps, doors, zombies, and creepers, together with a simple direction indicator. The settings are under Settings, Accessibility, and Gameplay, where players can also adjust placement, duration, and which sounds appear.
This is mainly an important improvement for Deaf and hard-of-hearing players, but it can also help anyone who misses audio information in noisy rooms or while playing at low volume. For blind players it does not replace audio cues, speech, or navigation support, but it is a major accessibility update in one of the world’s most-played games.
