The Omega Reach 1.2 expands its screen-reader-friendly demo

In short

Version 1.2 of The Omega Reach is available in a browser and as a Windows or Linux demo. The update expands the optional cellar, adds more audio controls, and introduces a mode that can reduce visual information and screen-reader clutter.

The cellar now has three floors, random layouts, and 14 new tiles with their own mechanics. The update also adds more galaxy, star, and planet types, MIDI-device support, and separate volume sliders for drones and sound effects.

The game’s documentation says its menus work with a keyboard and screen readers such as NVDA. The complete game can be controlled by keyboard, while interactions provide audio and optional haptic cues that become stronger near the correct input. An interaction can be skipped without penalty if it becomes difficult to perform.

The developer plans to use this version as the Steam Next Fest demo on 19 October. The full release is currently expected in the second half of 2027. Blind-accessibility information comes from the developer and documentation; the new cellar sections have not been independently tested without sight.
