PlayAural adds turn-based zombie survival with 3D audio

In short
Last Outpost joined the free PlayAural gaming platform on 20 October. One to four players choose actions from menus and use spoken status views and 3D audio to survive waves of zombies.
This is not a shooter that demands quick reactions. Each survivor spends action points to move, attack, reload, repair barricades, and work on missions before the zombies take their turn. Players can check enemies, the next attack, teammates, objectives, equipment, and the map without advancing the game.
Three maps, four modes, and three difficulty settings are included. Tasks involve restoring power and radio equipment, moving supplies, and defending areas. Players can go alone with one emergency recovery, work with other people, or add computer-controlled teammates. Audio conveys combat, surroundings, and direction, while the map view explains open routes, barricades, and enemy entrances.
PlayAural offers a keyboard-driven Windows client with screen-reader support, a self-voicing Android client, and a web edition for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The developer provides complete Last Outpost guidance in English and Vietnamese. Some AppleVis users say they are playing and enjoying the new game, but earlier tests of the web client found interrupted speech and choices that were difficult to locate. Trying the game for free on the intended device is advisable.
PlayAural is free, advertising-free, and open source. An account is required to connect. The Windows and Android editions are available from GitHub, while Apple devices use the web client.
