DelveKin updates provide clearer VoiceOver feedback in combat

In short

DelveKin: Dungeon Defense has received three updates since its 29 September launch. VoiceOver now provides more information while building and fighting, but a blind tester describes cumbersome controls and has not yet progressed beyond the first floor.

The game combines dungeon construction with turn-based combat. You place monsters and traps, move characters across a grid, and try to stop invading heroes. The opening chapters are free, while one purchase unlocks the rest of the campaign and two additional modes.

Version 1.0.1 on 2 October expanded VoiceOver across building, preparation, tutorials, and tactical combat. Version 1.0.2 followed the next day with clearer speech for hero movement and positions. Version 1.0.3 on 8 October fixes, among other things, a Settings button that could be difficult to tap on some layouts. The App Store also identifies larger text and reduced motion as supported.

The AppleVis test explains how traps and monsters can be placed with VoiceOver, and how players can find available movement spaces after a dice roll. Some buttons and labels repeat, however, and several steps require extensive swiping or touch exploration. The tester recommends trying all three free floors before buying because the rest of the game has not yet been confirmed playable without sight.

DelveKin is available on iPhone and iPad, requires iOS or iPadOS 16, and has English text only.
